Eastern Ohio, West Virgina, and Maryland…Wow is it Beautiful. These states, like many in the US, are known for it’s natural setting, beautiful wildlife, and nature trails and forest. However, with the Free wildlife…also comes a dangerous road hazard. Man…I have never seen so many dead deer on the roads. Why so many now…well my internet sourses tell me that the months of May and June are also prime months as groups wander and chase their young at this time.
Bambi and Bear Warning signs greet you in Maryland…but we didn’t see any stupid Bears by the roadside eating or thinking of crossing 8 lanes of traffic. Can’t image hitting a Bear at 65…that would chip the paint and a few years out of your life. You’ve heard of “Deer in the headlights Look”…what would a bear look like?
Learn from others Disasters: Avoid deer-related accidents include:
If you see one deer, it’s likely there are others close by so do slow down.
Flash headlights to scare deer away, but slow down in case they continue to run out in front of you!
Don’t swerve across the center line or brake hard; it is actually better to hit the deer than cause an additional traffic-related accident as a result of aviding the deer.

Watch for deer signs, as they are clear warnings of deer groups in the area. And…by the way…Who keeps putting on all the RED noses on those signs? Santa?
