Go West Waldo: The Truckster and The Plan

Vacation.  Clark’s adventure is one to always be remembered…why driving gives you so much more.  Family Time, cooler lunches at rest areas, and many bathroom breaks.  I still hear these words echo in my head before any vacation…”Always get a good once over before you leave”, my Dad always said.  The “Waldo Family Truckster” is tuned and ready to go, baby.

Part of any vacation is planning the sights.  To make it more interesting you need to be on a quest to find the “Strange and Unusual in Small Town America”.  I know my Dad wouldn’t have forced me to go to a lot of this stupid stuff, but I prove to be different with my kids.

We are heading to the Black Hills this year…Four Stone Presidents are calling us.  So long the way this is where the STRANGE SIGHTS become a quest to pass the miles.  I remember as a kid…seeing a WALL DRUG sign, which seemed like every mile, the build up is alot like “SEE ROCK CITY“.  Talk about roadside advertising - road kill.  It drove you nutts, I hope it does the same to my boys.  <insert evil grin

Here is just the beginning plan of our South Dakota Quest…thanks to a great website for any family road trip:  www.roadsideamerica.com  When you look at the picture…and where all the sights are on the main drag…I don’t think my road plan isn’t very orginal.

We are 8 days away, and a million chores unfinished, from taking off.  My boys are getting their MP3 players loaded with all the tunes they want…all the high tech gear is double checked, and we are just starting to talk about packing.

This vacation…I turn into “Dad-The Vacation Planner”.  It’s funny when a guy kicks into the memory making mode.  When I was 15 my parents took me and my 3 brothers to the Black Hills.  My dad recalls saying…”We are doing it…and everyone is going to like it”.  So, I guess I did…I recently found all the travel pamplets I saved from all the stops during that family vacation of the mid 70’s.  We stopped and enjoyed Wall Drug, “The Badlands”, stopped in Deadwood, toured the Corn Capitol in Mitchell, checked out the Crazy Horse Memorial (which in the 70s was a hole in the mountain) and then Mount Rushmore.  So…I told the boys this years theme is “The Zoo Flashback”…we are heading to every stop I made as a kid.  Wish us luck…a single Dad with four across country will need a few prayers <grin.>

Waldo has come along way over the years…from smokey bars, to concerts under the stars…to rasing 4 boys…to geekin’ out after school (work) at my new hang out.  PCC Internet Group, 3520 Roosevelt Blvd. in Middletown.

I have some cool friends there…Dennis Gamble is a huge Walleyworld Fan and Master Geek (I mean that in a loving way, bro) and web master Andrew Schechter (which I still can’t pronounce to this day…sorry).  What I like about these guys is very Simple…they are very personal and down home about every aspect of technology they work with.

Whether you have a business or a personal site, you will have a great experence having PCC Internet Group working with you…every step of the way.  I have a great relationship that goes beyond business with these guys in my web ventures…I feel like one of the family (now if they just bought me lunch sometime).  I have learned so much from them on Web Developing and Bloging.  And if I get stuck…I just call (during normal business hours) and get a real person that will give me expert advice that doesn’t go over your head.

I personally encourage you to check it out for your self…after you discovered that I WAS RIGHT about PCC, you don’t have to tell me…just enjoy knowing you were smart enough to see a brighter future working with the Personal PRO’s at PCC!

PCC Internet Group… I give em’ a Walleyworld “HELL YEAH!”

PCC Internet Group serves Cincinnati, Dayton, Middletown, Hamilton, West Chester, Lebanon, Eaton and many other communities.
